No. 2 LSU vs. Oregon
.No. 2 — LSU vs. Oregon
When: Sept. 3, 8 p.m. on ABC
Where: Cowboys Stadium (capacity 110,000), Arlington, Texas
Series history: LSU leads the series 2-1.
Why it's No. 2: The third installment of the "Cowboy Classic" figures to be the biggest and best yet, as the game has already sold out all 80,000 seats with standing-room only remaining. The talent level on the field should be astonishing, as the Tigers and Ducks are two of the top programs in America. LSU may have the advantage of having played a neutral-site game to kick off 2010, though the Tigers nearly blew a 30-10 fourth-quarter lead in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at the Georgia Dome last year before holding on for a 30-24 win over North Carolina. Oregon, meanwhile, fared well against the SEC in a non-conference game against Tennessee last season, a 48-13 win in Knoxville, Tenn. The Ducks closed out an undefeated regular season with a crushing 22-19 loss to Auburn in the BCS National Championship Game. Even after one team loses this game on Sept. 3, this could still be a national championship preview.
